Maine cannabis product labels are governed by Maine OCP rules under 28-B M.R.S. and 18-691 CMR. Required elements include the universal Maine cannabis symbol, dose per serving, total cannabinoids per package, batch number, expiration date, and producer license number.
The universal Maine symbol
Every Maine adult-use cannabis package displays the universal Maine cannabis symbol, a red triangle with a black cannabis leaf and the text CONTAINS THC. The symbol is required at a minimum of 0.5 inches by 0.5 inches on package, and 0.25 inches by 0.25 inches per edible serving (per Maine OCP guidance).
Dosage and potency
Edibles and drinks list milligrams of THC and CBD per serving and per package. Flower and pre-rolls list percentage of total THC and total CBD by weight. Concentrates list cannabinoid percentage and total milligrams.
Batch and traceability
Every Maine OCP-licensed product carries a batch number traceable through the Maine track-and-trace system. Cannabis Cured products are batch-traceable to our Fairfield campus.
