A Maine medical cannabis patient is a person 18 years or older (or registered through a caregiver) with a valid Maine medical cannabis certification issued by a Maine-registered provider. Patients can purchase from Maine OCP-licensed medical dispensaries, including three Cannabis Cured medical storefronts.
Step 1. Find a certifying provider
Search for a Maine-licensed physician, NP, or PA who certifies medical cannabis patients. Maine OCP maintains directories; the Maine Medical Association is also a resource. Many providers offer telehealth certifications.
Step 2. Schedule and attend the certification appointment
Bring your medical history. The provider determines whether you may benefit from medical cannabis and issues a written certification if appropriate. Maine does not have a statutory qualifying-condition list, provider discretion governs.
Step 3. Visit a Cannabis Cured medical storefront
Bring your written Maine medical cannabis certification AND a valid government-issued photo ID. The three Cannabis Cured medical storefronts are: Fairfield medical (DSP113), Bangor medical, and Thomaston medical (DSP118).
Step 4. Shop the medical menu
The medical menu is patient-only and is separate from the adult-use menu. Cannabis Cured medical menus include flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, drinks, tinctures, and topicals, all produced or sourced at our Fairfield campus.
Step 5. Renewal
Maine medical cannabis certifications expire and must be renewed by your certifying provider. Renewal timing varies by provider; most renew annually.
